Intellectual Property Notice
Last updated: September 2026
OMYSSEY is an independent educational project. Except for expressly identified third-party components, its original materials are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property law.
Ownership
Copyright © 2026 Brandon Gonzalez Baez. All rights reserved.
Ownership includes, to the extent provided by law and subject to third-party rights, OMYSSEY's original source code, educational text, original course organization, exercises, assessments, explanations, diagrams, visualizations, documentation, designs, and other original materials created for the platform.
Learner license
An authorized learner receives only a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to access and use assigned courses for learning purposes. Access to OMYSSEY does not assign copyright, trademark, source-code, database, or educational-material rights.
Unauthorized uses
- copy or redistribute substantial portions of courses, exercises, or assessments
- publish, sell, sublicense, or host copies of OMYSSEY or its original materials
- create derivative courses or platforms through substantial copying of protected content
- scrape, automatically extract, or systematically archive protected content
- share credentials or provide access to unauthorized persons
- remove authorship, ownership, or attribution notices
- use the OMYSSEY name, logo, or identity in a way that implies authorization or affiliation without permission
Academic or institutional access
Presenting OMYSSEY in a class, review by a teacher, advisor, university, laboratory, school, or other institution, or temporary hosting on institutional infrastructure for demonstration or evaluation does not by itself transfer ownership of the platform or grant reproduction, exploitation, commercialization, or sublicensing rights.
Any institutional license, assignment, transfer, collaboration, or exploitation authorization must be expressly documented in writing and define its scope, duration, and conditions.
Third-party software and materials
OMYSSEY uses third-party software governed by its own licenses, including Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, CodeMirror, Pyodide, Lucide, and other dependencies. Those licenses continue to govern their respective components and are not replaced by the proprietary status of OMYSSEY's original materials.
Name and branding
The OMYSSEY name, visual identity, and distinctive elements are reserved for the project. This notice does not claim that a trademark registration has already been granted; trademark registration is a separate procedure before the competent authority.
No implied transfer
Access to a deployed instance, private repository, documentation, academic presentation, or authorized evaluation copy does not by itself imply an assignment of rights. Any authorization beyond personal educational use must be in writing.
