By accessing and using OMYSSEY (hereinafter, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
OMYSSEY is a free, interactive educational platform designed to teach Python to people with no prior programming experience, through biology and bioinformatics. The Service allows you to access interactive lessons, write and run Python code directly in your browser, and save your progress locally on your device.
3. Use of the Service
The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You agree to:
- Not use the Service for commercial purposes without express written authorization
- Not attempt to access restricted areas of the Service's systems
- Not interfere with the operation of the Service or the experience of other users
- Not use automated means to access the Service without permission
4. Intellectual Property
All content of the Service, including lessons, exercises, example code, designs, and documentation, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the content solely for your personal learning.

6. Code Execution
The Service allows you to run Python code directly in your browser using Pyodide (a CPython distribution compiled to WebAssembly). You are responsible for the code you write and run. The Service does not monitor or store the code you write; all processing occurs locally on your device.
7. Data and Privacy
The Service does not collect personally identifiable data. Your progress (completed lessons, solved exercises) is stored locally in your browser's local storage (localStorage). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics services. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE.
9. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of your country of residence, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
